Security Blanket was established in 1978 in Waycross, Georgia by Buddy Adams. At the beginning of Mr. Adams' career, he was a dedicated Biology teacher at Coffee County High School. Buddy Adams entered the security business slowly by selling fire systems part-time on the weekends. Buddy was a natural and quickly learned the ins and outs of the industry. Buddy and his wife Judith were expecting baby number five in 1978 and decided to move to Waycross and pursue a full-time career in fire and security systems. Security Blanket opened its doors in 1978 as a one-man show working out of their home. Security Blanket’s logo was a unique and creative process. Mr. Adams and his wife noticed their eldest daughter Heather found extreme comfort in her blanket, it always made her feel safe and secure. The name Security Blanket, as well as the logo, was resembled to mimic that safety and security because everyone needs a little security.
